I love the possibility that books choose their writers! Maybe they're like dandelion seeds, waiting to take root in some fertile imagination. I've had simliar experiences - the book not written. When I was trying to find a publisher for my book on luck, one publisher who might otherwise have been interested was just then publishing one! So maybe the dandelion landed somewhere else first.
By the way, I love "Objectivity isn’t really objectivity: it’s subjectivity, zoomed out." It's a position I think I share. :)
Yes, I like the idea that things we don't write aren't necessarily lost, just waiting for someone else to catch hold of them. Like a kind of rescue centre for homeless concepts...
